About Anthony Garver
Anthony Garver is a 35-year combat veteran of the U.S. Air Force and 180th Fighter Wing. After graduating from Toledo Bowsher High School, he married his wife of 35 years Gloria. Garver spent eight years on active duty serving stateside and overseas. Upon his return, he joined the 180th Fighter Wing as a Federal Military Technician deploying multiple times including two tours of combat duty in Iraq. Garver’s duties over his 35-year career included working as a Munitions Systems Technician specializing in missile maintenance and working as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Munitions Command and Control Center supporting the 180th Fighter Wing’s F-16s Fighter Aircraft with multiple types of munitions. Garver’s last 6 years were spent as a Quality Assurance Specialist ensuring the F-16s were prepared to fly in support of the 180th’s Homeland Defense mission. This role also included interpreting Air Force policy and writing local policy for maintenance technicians. Garver is also involved with the Feet on the Street Program through the Toledo Police which provides a holiday shopping experience for children in the Lucas County Foster Care Program. Garver’s years of serving his country allow him to bring the core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do to local government. As a military member, he maintained a security clearance requiring financial stability and a clean background check performed by the Defense Investigative Agency.
