Income Tax Department

As of January 1, 2013, the Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.) became responsible for the collection and administration of the City of Waterville Income Tax.

The City of Waterville has a local income tax rate of 2%. This tax is levied on the income of residents, non-resident employees, and businesses operating within the City.  Residents who work in another municipality and who have an income tax liability in that municipality may receive a credit for taxes paid to that municipality, provided that the credit does not apply against the first 0.5% levied by Waterville. Specific questions can be directed to R.I.T.A. by calling 1-800-860-7482 or visiting ritaohio.com.  Waterville’s local income tax is the primary source of revenue for the City and provides the necessary financial support for most of the City’s departments and programs.
