Before erecting, relocating, or altering any building or portion thereof in Waterville, you must first obtain a zoning permit; applications are available online and at the Municipal Building. Once the zoning permit is approved, you must then obtain a building permit through Lucas County Building Regulation for inspections and further compliance. The Zoning Department is located at 25 N Second Street, Waterville, and can be reached at 419-878-8100 or by email at zoning@waterville.org. Regarding signage, no signs may be placed in public rights-of-way (except by government agencies); certain exemptions apply (e.g., “For Sale” signs on premises, garage sale signs off-site on private property for up to 72 hours).
