Economic Development Programs
01. Waterville Job Creation and Retention Grant
A Job Creation and Retention Grant Program, which provides annual cash payments to qualified businesses locating or expanding employment within the City is available. A portion of the income tax paid to the City by company employees is remitted to the company in the form of a grant based on the number of new jobs and the related annual payroll. Additional information on this program is available here: Job Creation Grant.
02. Community Reinvestment Areas (CRAs)
Tax abatement on new construction is available for certain non-retail projects within one of the City’s three CRAs. The abatement may be up to 100% on real property improvements for up to 10 years. A School Donation Agreement equal to the reduction in revenue to the school districts is required. If interested, please fill out the Community Reinvestment Application and submit it to the City.
