Lori Brodie’s message of fiscal responsibility, common sense and a business approach to government earned her a record setting number of votes as she made history, being elected the first female Mayor for Waterville and the first Mayor elected after Waterville was designated a City under Ohio law in 2011.
She is a proven leader having served on Waterville Council for two terms from 2002 – 2009 and as Vice Mayor in 2008 – 2009. Lori has chaired, co-chaired and served on several committees for Waterville including: Finance, Economic Development, Public Safety, and the Waterville Comprehensive Plan. She also served as the TARTA representative for the city.
Lori earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance and a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. With 23 years of corporate finance and small business ownership experience, Lori knows the rigors of both the private and public finance. A champion of Waterville improvements, Lori was instrumental in securing two Community Development Block Grants which revitalized downtown Waterville with $800,000 in federal tax money for our hometown.
Lori and her husband, Kyle, have three children and have been very happy with their choice of Waterville as their hometown since 1998. Lori knows Waterville is a great place to live and is working to maintain our wonderful standard of living while being fiscally responsible, operating within a balanced budget and creating the best opportunities to make the City even better. With the US 24 bypass opening soon, the controlled development of this area will be very important to Waterville. Lori believes Waterville’s small town charm and outstanding residents will continue to be our number one asset. As mayor, Lori is committed to being a hard-working, financially-responsible leader working to keep our small town a safe and wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
